How to create realistic materials in blender?

There are millions of realistic renders out there to make you feel down and I know how it feels. Here's my story how I got back to the right track after getting demotivated (I wish I had taken materials seriously when I started).

A real story (from 2 years back)

I was blown away by the photorealistic renders 2 years back when I just started in the Blender world - a world of fun of course!

In fact, that was the reason I started taking CG Art seriously. I had high hopes as I googled some Blender tutorials.

But soon, I was disappointed and felt like quitting (Tell me you haven't experienced it and I can show you a Martian Blender Artist). I even did quit Blender and had almost forgotten it for half a year and then, I stumbled upon the super-cool Blender short films.

It was the right stimulus I needed, so I decided to continue my journey further.

Soon, I was creating some average quality artworks, which actually didn't work! I was just missing something.

I heard a lot about lighting and modelling and even materials. I worked like crazy to get those right, but still something was just not right. My renders were nothing more than inexperienced computer art.

I did a lot of research about lighting and modelling but what I didn't try till then, was materials. Of course, I could make a metal shader in the materials panel, but it was crap!

When I jumped into some materials research. This time, I discovered something shocking - the node editor. It was one of the weirdest thing that could have happened. I mean, how did it hide from me for such a long time.

Nodes worked like magic! I was slowly started to see results which I had once only dreamt of.

I wish I knew it when I had just started and you can imagine, I could have had almost twice the experience I have right now in materials.

So, the reason I told you this story is, I don't want you to undergo the same pain and frustration but only focus on - your purpose: producing art.

The tool should never be an obstacle. That is why I wrote this eBook, where I have revealed all the tricks and tips that have worked and worked like crazy.

I have decided to give away only 2000 copies. So make it fast ! Sign-up for free and get it now: here

What does the book contain?

I have roughly sketched out what the book actually contains:

Understanding materials

Before trying to create something it's always good to know what is that we are creating.

So what ?

You cannot quit once you come to know about the benefits of learning materials.

Achieving realism

Learning yourself is great, but why reinvent the wheel, when I already have so much to share ?

What helped me learn way faster!

We all know, we need to walk the extra mile. But what if you could run the extra mile ?
